Beauty, Botox and Brides…by Gayle
When we set our wedding date last year, we gave ourselves four months to organise everything! Venues, dresses, flowers, cars, honeymoon and my temperamental skin! Although I have been an advanced beauty therapist for 15 years, and, I know what works best for me and my skin, it can be prone to breakouts and blemishes. Environment, diet and hormones play a factor and my skin tends to be a little oily and congested. In addition to this, my forehead is starting to show signs of ageing with my frown lines becoming a little more prominent.
I made a plan. In the months leading up to the wedding, I had a course of IPL (Intense Pulse Light). This is an excellent treatment for stimulating tired and dull skin as well as treating pigmentation, uneven skin tone and red veins and blemishes. It reduces the appearance of pores and freshens and boosts the skin.
I alternated the IPL treatments with some Microneedling (dermaroller). Again this is an excellent treatment for stimulating collagen and improving skin health. The skin is numbed before gently rolling the device over the skin. When treatment is complete, I had iS Clinical’s Pro Heal Serum applied to assist the healing process.
Personal Treatment Plans
Around a month before the big day, I had a little Botox in my forehead, frown lines and crows feet. This, for me, is a pain-free procedure which takes a few days to settle in and can last for around 3 months. It softens any wrinkles and restores the youthful glow!
I have always thought my top lip was a little too thin and ‘disappeared’ when I smiled. I knew I was going to have lots of photographs taken of me smiling.
I decided to have a little juverderm volbella dermal filler put in my top lip to restore volume and give my smile a boost! At the same time, I had a scar filled on my chin (the result of a childhood accident, where the corner of the fireplace won!). The results are fantastic, a scar that I have had for 28 years now looks less noticeable and a lot smoother!
Look Fabulous on your Wedding day
I complemented my treatment regime by using Jan Marini Bioglycolic Wash (excellent for congested, black head prone skin), iS Clinical Pro Heal (for keeping my blemishes and spots at bay) and Active Serum. I use Jan Marini SPF 33 daily, (it provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection to decrease the risk of premature skin aging).
I would urge any bride to be to come in for a consultation with us at Qutis. We can make your skin look and feel fabulous for your special day! Call Qutis Witney on 01993 704050 or find your nearest clinic here.
