We have treated many clients with all skin types over the last 12 years and have learned the subtleties of using Laser hair removal to get the best results for each skin type. This can be a complex area and practitioner training and experience are very important.
Here is a quick video from one of our customers sharing her treatment.
Based on technology used for a couple of decades, Laser hair removal has been performed safely for many years, effectively eliminating dozens of hairs with each pulse. More advanced even than electrolysis, Laser is the first photoepilation technology proven to treat unwanted hair safely on any skin type.
At Qutis Clinic Witney, we have reviewed and tested many different laser skin hair removal devices. The technology is continually evolving and manufacturers are frequently updating their laser hair removal devices and launching upgrades. We have found that often these changes bring improvements but not always. It is important to make the right choice for our customers as these hair removal lasers can cost up to £70,000. The video below was filmed at MBNS Clinic in Thame, Oxfordshire; we offer this same Laser hair removal technology at our clinic here at Qutis Witney.
We have chosen to use the Syneron Emax in our clinics. We have seen that this hair removal laser and combined IPL machine is among the best available and produces some superb results for customers.
How does our Laser Hair Removal with elōs™ DS/DSL Applicator work?
Our DSL uses laser and bi-polar radio frequency energies to damage the hair follicle. This disables your follicle from growing hair, which means that gradually over several treatments, you will see a permanent reduction in the amount of hair in that area.
How successful is the treatment?
Medical studies have shown that in skin types ranging from Northern European to South Asian that there is 35-42% clearance of hair at 3 months after a single treatment. Your lasered hair follicle takes about 2-3 weeks to push out the treated hair. Some hair shafts can be pulled out of the follicle immediately post-treatment without resistance, indicating disengagement from the follicle.
Is the treatment safe?
Treatment in our purpose designed clinics, by our specialist nurse practitioners is very safe for the skin. There are many advances in the technology that make the eMax one of the safest hair removal systems available for all skin colours. There are no long-term health hazards from laser or electric energies used in elōs. Both optical and radio frequency have been used for decades in medicine, surgery, and aesthetics without adversity.
How will my treatment feel?
You will find treatment only moderately uncomfortable. The machine we use has a chilled tip, which makes contact with your skin to chill the surface and increase patient comfort.
What results can one expect from laser hair removal treatment?
Each laser hair removal treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in colour, finer, and slower-growing with each treatment. It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 6-8 treatments, but individual results vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Lighter coloured hair may need more treatments than darker coloured hair.
How often does one need laser hair removal treatments?
Treatments to the face are every 6-8 weeks, whilst treatment on body hair are usually every 12 weeks.
What happens after each laser hair removal treatment?
Patients experience temporary pinkness in the skin that lasts a very short time, most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment. The treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 2-4 weeks, and patients may experience a period of hairlessness in the area while you wait for your next treatment.
Who should get laser hair removal treatment?
Anyone who wants a permanent solution to shaving, waxing, plucking, or electrolysis. There are few medical conditions that contraindicate people from treatment. It is very useful in the prevention of infected hair roots or folliculitis.
What is the average number of treatments for laser hair removal on dark hair?
We recommend an average number of treatments of 6-8 to achieve satisfactory hair removal, but some patients may require more or less. Men’s backs and chests, facial hair and hormonal hair take more.
