Another Qutis Nurse Wins Aesthetic Nurse of the Year

awarded by The British Journal of Nursing (BJN). Adrian was up against some very stiff competition from some very experienced aesthetic nurses so we are especially pleased with his success. Adrian first qualified as a nurse six years ago and moved to become an independent nurse in 2011, training alongside Maria Brennan Thorns as an Aesthetic Specialist Practitioner. After becoming an independent nurse and working with Qutis and MBNS in Thame, Whitey and Abingdon Adrian also qualified as a Nurse Independent Prescriber (NIP) in 2012.

Two Awards in Two Years

Marea won the same award last year, which gives us two wins in two years! The British Journal of nursing apply some very high standards and all the judging criteria are done independently by a “blind" panel of experts. In 2013 Adrian worked with the Royal College of nursing to write and develop the aesthetic nursing competencies, helping to raise standards in training and the specialism of aesthetic medicine. We expect this input will become part of a national training programme for nurses as recommended in the recent cosmetic report from Sir Bruce Keogh which made a series of recommendations across the whole of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Adrian currently works at all three of our clinics in Oxfordshire, and we are finding a growing demand for his areas of specialism, which include; Anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers to replace lost volume in the face and lips and a wide range of other medical aesthetic treatments.

Adrian receive the award last week in a ceremony at the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on the South Bank, hosted by Dr Phil Hammond, GP and comedian.
