Our team of nurses and practitioners have been delivering hair removal treatments for 25 years. We have invested in advanced, modern IPL Laser machines which are effective and which improve your comfort. We specialise in a range of treatments including:
We have treated many clients with a wide range of skin types and have learned the subtleties of using Laser hair removal to get the best results for you. IPL can be a complex area and practitioner training and experience are very important.
Based on technology used for a couple of decades, Laser hair removal has been performed safely for many years, effectively eliminating dozens of hairs with each pulse. More advanced even than electrolysis, Laser is the first photoepilation technology proven to treat unwanted hair safely on any skin type.
Our system uses laser and bi-polar radio frequency energies to damage the hair follicle. This disables your follicle from growing hair, which means that gradually over several treatments, you will see a permanent reduction in the amount of hair in that area.
We reviewed and tested many different laser skin hair removal devices. The technology is continually evolving and manufacturers are frequently updating their laser hair removal devices and launching upgrades.
We have chosen to use the Syneron Emax system in our clinics. This hair removal laser and combined IPL machine is among the best available and produces some superb patient results supported by clinical trials.
Each laser hair removal treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in colour, finer, and slower-growing with each treatment. It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 6-8 treatments, but individual results vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Lighter coloured hair may need more treatments than darker coloured hair.
You will get between 15-25% clearance of the total amount of hair with each treatment. Your lasered hair follicle takes about 2-3 weeks to push out the treated hair. Your treated hair will eject itself naturally and we ask that you do not wax or epilate in between treatments. However, you may 'close trim' or shave in between your treatment sessions.
Treatments to the face are every 4-6 weeks, whilst treatment on body hair is usually every 8-12 weeks.
Treatment in our purpose-designed clinics, by our specialist nurse and laser practitioners, is very safe for the skin. There are many advances in technology that make the Lynton Excelight one of the safest hair removal systems available for all skin colours. There are no long-term health hazards from laser or electric energies used in the Lynton Excelight machine. Both optical and radiofrequency have been used for decades in medicine, surgery, and aesthetics without adversity.
We recommend an average number of treatments of 6-8 to achieve satisfactory hair removal for dark hair, but some patients may require more or less. Men’s backs and chests, facial hair and hormonal hair take more.
You will find treatment only moderately uncomfortable. The machine we use has a chilled tip, which makes contact with your skin to chill the surface and increase your comfort.
Anyone who wants a permanent solution to shaving, waxing, plucking, or electrolysis. There are few medical conditions that may prevent you from treatment but we will check this with you before booking. Hair removal treatment is very effective if you suffer from infected hair roots or folliculitis.
You may experience temporary pinkness in the skin that lasts a very short time, most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment. Your treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 2-4 weeks, and you may experience a period of hairlessness in the area while you wait for your next treatment.
When assessing the cost of your treatment it is important that you're confident the IPL Laser machine being used is properly effective. We have invested over £100,000 in our IPL laser and radio frequency systems, but we are aware that not all providers will invest in such effective, high quality technology. Whatever price you pay your treatment needs to work. For more price information you may download a copy of our booklet below.
